Week 5 Accomplishments:

  • Greens Contouring approved by Jason Straka on hole #6
  • Erosion Control
    • Silt Fence Installation is complete
  • Earthmoving / Shaping
    • Work continues on holes 5, 6, 7
    • The cartpath locations on hole 4, 5, and 6 have been shaped.
    • Excavating soil continues on #5 fairway which is being relocated to #7 fairway.
  • Drainage installation
    • Greens Installations - #4 Green is complete. #3 Green has begun
    • General Course Drainage - #4 is 75% complete. #3 has begun and will continue this coming week
  • Clearing Plan
    • Completed on holes 3 & 4. Work in progress on holes 5, 6 and 7
    • Pepper Trees were cut back behind hole #11

On hole #5 there is a water main (Sarasota County Public Utility) that comes across from Eagle Watch Lane over to MacEwen Road. Because the pipe is only 3 feet below the existing elevation, a set of engineering drawings will be submitted to Sarasota County  to lower the elevation of the pipe by 8 - 10 feet. Once Sarasota County approves the permit, a certified utility contractor will complete the project. Once a start date has been set, any homeowner that might be inconvenienced will be promptly notified several days in advance.  Please see the below map which depicts the water main (WM) running across the golf hole.

Upcoming Week Goals:
  • Continue shaping #7 Greens Complex and have the green contours ready for Jason's approval during his next site visit.
  • Continue Earthmoving and Rough Shaping on holes 5, 6, and 7
  • Drainage Installation
    • Continue on hole #3 and proceed to #6.
    • Complete Greens drainage on #3 and start #6.
  • Continue Clearing Plan on holes 6 - 8 and #2.
  • Rototilling on hole #2

Golf Course Architect, Jason Straka, continues to conduct weekly site visits. His next scheduled visit is set for Wednesday, September 24th.
