Protecting the Roadways

Protecting the Roadways

In order for the contractor to relocate heavy machinery from one hole to another old, worn out tires from the maintenance facility are used as a cushion and barrier.

Please note the tires seen along the roadside were NOT removed from the course during the earthwork phase of the project..

See the below photo taken during this "crossing" process.

Once Sarasota County approves the permit, a certified utility contractor will complete the project. Once a start date has been set, any homeowner that might be inconvenienced will be promptly notified several days in advance.  Please see the below map which depicts the water main (WM) running across the golf hole.

The below photos are of Course Architect, Jason Straka discussing the 4th Greens Complex with Lead Shaper, Justin Carlton. The two will visit quite frequently as Justin creates Jason vision for each hole with the use of the large Bulldozers seen in the previous videos.

The pitch / angle of the putting surface all starts at the base (subsoil) of the green. The subsoil will match the contours of the putting surface that each of you will be putting on. As you can see in the below photo, Justin uses a level to see the exact pitch of specific locations on the subsoil. This ensures that the "pinable" locations are fair and challenging.
