Progress Update #15 - Week 14 - 11/21/2014




Week 14 Accomplishment:
  • Greens
    • Greens Root Zone mix is complete on hole #8
    • Greens contours have been approved on holes #14 and #16.
  • Earthmoving / Shaping
    •  95 % complete on #13
    • 90 % complete on #16
    • #17 tee complex is 85% complete
    • Work as begun on #15 with the proportional lake excavation and filling on the south side lakes. Piles of soil have been positioned to fill small areas along the lake near the approach area.
  • Drainage installation Progress 
    • 75 % complete on hole #13
    • Started on hole #14
  • Clearing Plan 
    • 95% complete on #14
    • A majority of the old cartpath on holes #15 and #17 has been pulled up and is ready to be hauled off site
    • Irrigation
      • The  main line, lateral piping, sprinkler installation on hole #6 has been installed.
    • The municipal water line relocation on hole #5 is complete. 

    Upcoming Week Goals:
    • Installed Gravel and Drainage in the greens on holes #14 and #16
    • Complete the Rough Shaping on hole #14 and continue to work on hole #15 and #16.
    • Continue the Earthmoving and Rough Shaping on hole #5.
    • Work on clearing the wetland by #14 Green / #15 Tee
    • Drainage Installation:
      • Complete hole #13
      • Work on #14 
    • Continue Clearing Plan on hole #14, #15, #16, and #17.
    • Complete Greens Mix Install on hole #1 and #2.
    • Install Irrigation System on hole #2.

      The Look Ahead:


      The large drainage pipe located along the 2nd hole is tentatively scheduled to be installed on Hole #1 after the 1st of the year. 

      *Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, the construction contractor will stop work starting the afternoon of the 26th and will start back on the morning of December 1st. The contractor conducting the clearing will be working on the Brazilian Pepper Tree removal in the wetland that separates holes #14 and #15 on Friday, November 28th and Saturday, November 29th.

        Golf Course Architect, Jason Straka's next scheduled site visits are: 

        1) December 1st - 3rd
        2) December 8th - 9th
        3) December 15th - 17th
        4) January 5th - 7th



        Did you know:  

        Nearly 2,300 tons of G-Angle bunker sand will be installed in the bunkers or sand traps.

        Progress Update #14 - Week 13 - 11/14/2014




        Week 13 Accomplishment:
        • Greens
          • Drainage and Gravel Installation is complete on #13
          • Greens Root Zone mix is complete on hole #5, 6, and 7
        • Earthmoving / Shaping
          • Completed on #12 and 90 % complete on #13
        • Drainage installation Progress 
          • Complete on hole #12
          • Started on hole #13
        • Clearing Plan 
          • Hole #14 & #16 is 90% complete
          • Cartpath has been pulled up and is ready to be hauled offsite from for hole #16.
          • Irrigation
            • The  main line, lateral piping, sprinkler installation on hole #3 and #4 has been installed.
          • Geotube
            • Complete along the filled lake corner on hole #3

          Upcoming Week Goals:
          • Complete the Rough Shaping on hole #14 and continue to work on hole #15 and #16.
          • Work on clearing the wetland by #14 Green / #15 Tee
          • Drainage Installation:
            • Complete hole #13 
          • Continue Clearing Plan on hole #14, #15, #16, and #17.
          • Complete Greens Mix Install on hole #1, #2, and #8.

            The Look Ahead:


            The berm that will separate #17 Greens Complex from MacEwen road will start to take place over the weekend and on into next week.

            Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, the construction contractor will stop work starting the afternoon of the 26th and will start back on the morning of December 1st.

              There is approximately 300 tons of greens root zone mix that is installed per green which depends on the size or square footage of putting surface.

              Progress Update #13 - Week 12 - 11/7/2014




              Week 12 Accomplishment:

                • Drainage and Gravel Installation is complete on #12
                • Greens Root Zone mix is complete on hole #4

                • Completed on #12 and 90 % complete on #13
              • Drainage installation Progress

                • Cartpath has been pulled up and is ready to be hauled offsite from a majority of hole #12, #13, and #14.
              • Irrigation
                • The  main line on hole #3 and #4 has been installed. Lateral Piping and sprinkler installation is 35% complete.

              Upcoming Week Goals:
              • Complete the greens drainage and gravel installation on hole #11 & #12.
              • Continue Earthmoving and Rough Shaping on hole #14 and start on hole #16.
              • Drainage Installation:
                • Complete hole #12 and #13 
              • Continue Clearing Plan on hole #14, and #15.
              • Complete Greens Mix Install on hole #5, #6, and #7.
              • Complete the Geotube along the fairway on hole #3

                The Look Ahead:


                The water main relocation on the fairway of hole #5 is the scheduled to begin Thursday, November 13th. As of today, Sarasota County has notified the 5 residents that will be inconvenienced due to the shutdown.

                    • #11 & #12 Green has been approved by Jason Straka
                    • The installation of the Greens Soil Mix on #4 Green has begun and will be completed today (Friday)
                  • Earthmoving / Shaping
                    • Continues on #12 and has started on #13
                  • Drainage installation Progress (completion %)
                    • #1 = 30%  (Green Complex Complete) 
                    • #2 = 100% 
                    • #3 = 100%
                    • #4 = 100%
                    • #5 = 80%
                    • #6 = 100%
                    • #7 = 100%
                    • #8 = 60%
                    • #9 = 20% (Tee Complex Complete)
                  • Clearing Plan 
                    • Work is 90% complete on holes #12 & #13
                    • Cartpath has been pulled up and is ready to be hauled offsite from a majority of hole #12 and half of #13.
                  • Geotube
                    • #8 Green  & #2 Tee Canal have been completed
                  • Irrigation
                    • The  main line on hole #4 has been installed and work will continue on #3.

                  • Complete the rough shaping on #12.
                  • Complete the greens drainage and gravel installation on hole #11 & #12.

                  • Drainage Installation:

                    The Look Ahead:


                    The water main relocation on the fairway of hole #5 is tentatively scheduled to begin the latter part of this coming week or the week of November 10th. Sarasota County will notify any resident that may be inconvenienced several days prior to the work beginning.

                        Progress Update #10 - Week 9 - 10/17/2014




                        Week 9 Accomplishments:
                        • Greens
                          • Contours on hole #5 have been approved by Jason Straka. 
                          • Drainage and gravel installation is complete on #1 and started on #5.
                        • Earthmoving / Shaping
                          • Work continues on holes #5,  #7 and #8. 
                          • The de-watering and excavation of the pond surrounding #5 green is complete. 
                          • Roto-tilling is 80% complete on hole #11,  95% complete #12, and 55% complete on #13.
                        • Drainage installation
                          • General Course Drainage - #2 is complete / work continues on #7
                        • Clearing Plan 
                          • Hole #8 and #11 is complete.
                          • All the old cartpath for holes #2 - #8 has been hauled off site to a recycle plant.
                        • Geotube
                          • #4 Green is complete.
                        • Irrigation
                          • Scheduled to start the week of October 20th. 

                        Upcoming Week Goals:
                        • Rough shape the green on #5.

                          There will be 140,000 square feet or 3.2 acres of putting surface. The greens turf will be TifEagle Certified Bermudagrass which will come from a Turf Farm out of Georgia.
