Progress Update #26 - Week 28 - 2/27/15


Week 28 Accomplishments:
  • Greens Construction
    • Hole #10
      • Root Zone mix, Gravel Layer and Drainage have been installed
  • Earthmoving / Rough Shaping
    • Hole #9 
      • Fairway - complete
    • Hole #10 - complete
    • Hole #1 - Fairway - 70% complete
  • Drainage
    • Hole #10 - Installation is complete
  • Irrigation
    • The  main line, lateral piping, sprinkler installation:  
      • Hole #15 - 90% complete - piping around the green still needs to be installed
      • Hole #16 - complete
      • Hole #18 - Range 
        • The 10 inch main line has been installed and runs in front of the front range tee
  • Cartpath Installation
    • Hole #3 - 85% complete (Tee complex still remains)
    • Hole #4 & #5 - complete

Upcoming Week Goals:
  • Complete the Cartpath Installation on hole #3 tees and continue on to hole #4
  • Start the Irrigation installation on hole #17
  • Continue Earthwork plan on hole #1
  • Install Drainage #9 Fairway
  • Geotube Installation - Complete hole #15 and start #10 green
  • Start the stormwater equalizer piping on hole #1

The Look Ahead:
  • Irrigation Design Layout: Tony Altum will be onsite Monday, March 2nd to layout the design on holes #9, #10, and #17.
  • Grass Installation: With the assistance of our FRIEND Mother Nature we are hopeful to begin grass installation in the middle to latter part of March or the early part of April.
  • Irrigation System Pressurizing: Depending on the progress of holes #1, #9, #10, and #18 the goal will be to pressurize the system in the middle of March. The Irrigation system will assist in additional dust control around the entire course.
  • Bunker Construction will begin mid March.
  • The 60 inch equalizer piping for #1 is scheduled to be installed in the next two weeks
  • The projected opening date is early November.

Golf Course Architect, Jason Straka's next scheduled site visits are: 
  
1) March 2nd - 4th
2) March 11th - 13th
3) March 16th - 18th 




Did you know:  

The bottom of equalizer pipe that will be installed across hole #1 will be set at an elevation of 1.

Progress Update #25 - Week 27 - 2/20/15

Did you know:  

The concrete for the new Cartpaths is rated for 3,500 pounds per square inch of pressure. A fiber mesh is also blended into the concrete for added strength.

Progress Update #24 - Week 26 - 2/13/2015


Week 26 Accomplishments:

    • Hole #10
      • Green Contours have been approved
  • Earthmoving / Rough Shaping
    • Hole #1 Tee - complete
    • Hole #9 
      • Fairway - 80% complete
      • Greens Complex - complete
    • Hole #10 - Complete
  • Irrigation
    • The  main line, lateral piping, sprinkler installation:  
      • Hole #14 - All sprinklers are installed
      • Hole #15 - Mainline installation has begun at the tee complex

Upcoming Week Goals:
  • Greens Construction
    • Install Rootzone Mix on #9 Green
  • Drainage Installation
    • Complete Hole #10
    • Start hole #9
  • Complete the Cartpath Installation on hole #3 and continue on to hole #4
  • Complete Irrigation installation on holes #15
  • Install 10 inch Irrigation Mainline which will cross the driving range from #18 over to #10. The the main range tee will be closed for a short time on Monday (2/16) morning.
  • Continue Earthwork plan on holes #1 and #10

  • Grass Installation: With the assistance of our FRIEND Mother Nature we are hopeful to begin grass installation in the middle to latter part of March.

Did you know:  

A cement truck load contain approximately 10 cubic yards of cement which is enough cement for 85 - 100 linear feet of new 8 foot wide cartpaths.

Progress Update #22 - Week 24 - 1/30/2015


Week 24 Accomplishments:
  • Greens Construction
    • Hole #9
      • Complex has been rough shaped and will be ready for approval next week
  • Earthmoving / Rough Shaping
    • Hole #15 is 90% complete - shaping continues on the tee complex and complete the bunker along the green and fairway
    • Hole #18 
      • General shaping is complete
    • #1 Tee / #9 Green / #10 tee have started in the Earthwork phase
    • Irrigation
      • The  main line, lateral piping, sprinkler installation: 
        • Hole #11 - complete on the green-side of the creek 
        • Hole #12 - working on lateral pipe and sprinkler installation 
    • GeoTube
      • The green-side lake on hole #15 is 75% complete.  The contractor is 100% complete on the south pond.

    Upcoming Week Goals:
    • Greens Construction - Install Root Zone Mix on Hole #18
    • Drainage Installation
      • Complete Hole #17
      • Start hole #18
    • Start Cartpath Installation on hole #3
    • Complete Irrigation installation on holes #12 & #13

    • The weir structures (control water elevations in the ponds) are scheduled to be replaced in February. There are total of 5 structures that are scheduled to be replaced.

    Did you know:  

    A majority of the grass installation will primarily consist of a process called sprigging which is utilizing stems of a mature bermudagrass plant and replanting it in a desired location.

    Week 25 Accomplishments:

      • Hole #9
        • Green Contours have been approved
    • Earthmoving / Rough Shaping
      • Hole #15 is 95% complete - greens complex bunker remains. The bunker along the south side of the hole is complete.
      • Hole #1 Tee - 90% complete
      • Hole #9 
        • Fairway - 60% complete
        • Greens Complex - 80% complete
    • Irrigation
      • The  main line, lateral piping, sprinkler installation:  
        • Hole #12 - Complete
        • Hole #13 - complete
        • Hole #14 - Mainline is currently being fused together
      • Irrigation Layout / Design
        • Complete on holes 14, 15, and 16
    • #11 Creek Bank (by the bridge)
      • The re-stacking of the coral boulders is 85% complete

    Did you know:  

    Once the drainage lines and catch basins are installed, a section of pipe is left above the ground up until it is time to install the grass. The exposed pipe is also surrounded by gravel to prevent any sediment from entering the pipe and contaminating the water during a rain. Following a rain event, it may take a little extra time before the water finally reaches the pipe as it goes through gravel.
