Progress Update #21 - Week 23 - 1/23/2015


Week 23 Accomplishments:
  • Greens Construction
    • Hole #17 
      • Root Zone Mix (Soil) has been installed
    • Hole #18
      • Drainage and Gravel Installation is complete
  • Earthmoving / Rough Shaping
    • Hole #17 is 95% complete
    • Hole #15 is 85% complete - still have to shape the tee complex and complete the bunker along the green and fairway
    • Hole #18 
      • Fairway - shaping the fairway bunkers on inside corner of the dogleg 
      • Green Complex - complete .
    • #1 Tee / #9 Green / #10 tee have started in the Earthwork phase
  • Irrigation
    • The  main line, lateral piping, sprinkler installation: 
      • Hole #11 - mainline pipe installation has begun
      • Hole #12 - mainline piping has been installed 
      • Hole #13 - mainline piping, lateral piping, and sprinklers have been installed on the "tee-side" of the fairway.
  • GeoTube
    • The green-side lake on hole #15 is 75% complete. Due to the water level being artificially lowered for a drainage pipe installation the geotube installation has transitioned to the south side lake on #15. The contractor is 65% complete on the south pond.

Upcoming Week Goals:
  • Greens Construction - Install Root Zone Mix on Hole #18
  • Drainage Installation
    • Complete Hole #17
  • Continue Clearing Plan on hole #10, #9, and #1
  • Complete Irrigation installation on hole #11 & 12
  • Complete the GeoTube installation on the south side lake on hole #15
  • Contiune Earthwork plan on hole #10 and work on the green complex for hole #9

The Look Ahead:
  • Grass Installation: With the assistance of our FRIEND Mother Nature we are hopeful to begin grass installation in the middle to latter part of March.
  • Irrigation System Pressurizing: Depending on the progress of holes #1, #9, #10, and #18 the goal will be to pressurize the system in the middle of February. The Irrigation system will assist in additional dust control around the entire course.
  • Cartpath installation is scheduled to start at the end of January
  • Bunker Construction will begin at the beginning of March
  • #11 Creek Bank - The rock wall will be re-stacked in the next 1-2 weeks
  • The 60 inch equalizer piping for #1 is scheduled to be installed at the beginning of February
  • The weir structures (control water elevations in the ponds) are scheduled to be replaced in February. There are total of 5 structures that are scheduled to be replaced.

Golf Course Architect, Jason Straka's next scheduled site visits are: 

1) January 29th - 30th
2) February 5th - 6th  


Did you know:  

The sprinklers that are being installed on the course are the newest model from Toro which are the "Infinity" Series.

Progress Update #20 - Week 22 - 1/16/14


Week 22 Accomplishments:
  • Greens Construction
    • Hole #17 
      • Green Contours have been approved
      • Drainage and Gravel installation has begun
  • Earthmoving / Rough Shaping
    • Hole #17 is 90% complete
    • Hole #15 is 85% complete - still have to shape the tee complex and complete the bunker along the green and fairway
    • Hole #18 
      • Fairway and Green Complex - 50% complete; there is a large berm being created to separate the 18th hole from the Driving Range. Please note that the entire berm will be landscaped.
    • Wetland Area - #14 / #15
      • The water elevation continues to rise naturally with the assistance of our friend, Mother Nature.
  • Irrigation
    • The  main line, lateral piping, sprinkler installation: 
      • Hole #7 - complete. 
      • Hole #12 - mainline has been fused and is ready to be installed
      • Hole #13 - mainline pipe installation has begun and lateral piping and sprinkler installation will begin in the next few days
  • GeoTube

Progress Update #19 - Weeks 19-20-21 - 1/9/14


Week #19 / #20/ #21 Accomplishments:

  • Earthmoving / Shaping
    • Hole #17 is 65% complete
    • Hole #15 is 80% complete - still have to shape the tee complex and complete the bunker along the green and fairway
    • Hole #18 - tee complex is 95% complete 
    • Wetland Area - #14 / #15
      • Earthmoving / excavation is scheduled to be complete on Saturday, January 10th.
      • 25 Bald Cypress trees have been installed.
  • Drainage installation 
    • Hole #13 is 95% complete - 3 additional drains are to be installed
    • Hole #14 is 95% complete 
    • Hole #16 is 90% complete - still have one drain to install behind the 17th tee.
    • Hole #15 will be complete this week
  • Clearing Plan 
    • Hole #18 - Work has begun along the left side to allow area for the berm that will separate the fairway and green complex from the practice facility.
    • Work has begun on holes #1, #9,  and #10 
  • Irrigation
    • The  main line, lateral piping, sprinkler installation: 
      • Hole #7 is 65% complete. Scheduled to be complete by Monday
    • Holes that have been staked for sprinkler locations and piping: 
      • Holes: #11, #12, and #13
  • GeoTube
    • Installation has begun on the lake on #15. The pond closet to the green on the right-hand side.

Upcoming Week Goals:
  • Continue the Rough Shaping on hole #15 & #17
  • Continue Clearing Plan on hole #18, #10, #9, and #1
  • Start the installation of drainage on hole #17 
  • Install the soil mix on greens for holes #14 and #15

The Look Ahead:
  • Cartpath installation is scheduled to start at the end of January
  • Bunker Construction will begin at the beginning of March
  • #11 Creek Bank - The rock wall will be re-stacked in the next 2-3 weeks
  • The 60 inch equalizer piping for #1 is scheduled to be installed at the beginning of February
  • The weir structures (control water elevations in the ponds) are scheduled to be replaced in February. There are only 5 structures that are scheduled to be replaced.

1) January 12th - 14th
2) January 19th - 20th
3) January 29th - 30th 


Did you know:  

A total of 416 linear feet of 60 inch HDPE drainage pipe will be installed on Hole #1 to equalize the stormwater levels for the right and left side ponds along #1 fairway.
